Most trees naturally take the form of an Y as they grow. This section of the tree is considered to be the heart, where life literally bursts out in the form of branches. This Y shape is reflected in the steel base. This is our attempt to honor the tree's natural asymmetrical form, rather than cutting it into man's square right angles.
